Flipgrid was the platform I chose to explore. I was really intrigued by the concept of video responses, as primary students could contribute their thinking without being limited by typing/spelling.

While the concept of video responses was alluring, the platform is limited in its purpose. I can see this platform playing a specific role in presenting or responding but that is about it. There are a lot of 'extras' to sift through with the stickers and emojis. I can imagine young students getting distracted and lost in those fun options.

It's hard to deny that Google Classroom is the most useful platform for all stakeholders (teachers + parents). I like Flipgrid and there is a use for it in my primary classroom, but Google Classroom is versatile and can meet the needs of most classroom teachers of any age group.

I would recommend Google Classroom for many educators. I think it would be most accessible for students in 4th grade and up. It has many features and continues to evolve regularly. It can be use in a multitude of ways and links with other platforms, such as EdPuzzle, which makes it nearly all encompassing.

This video is my ScreenCast giving an overview of the program.
