This church is located within the Vatican City. This church was finished in 1626. The person ordering this churches construction was Pope Julius II. Over the course of history, this building took 150 years to be completed. This church also includes a dome with 16 sections and a very intricate design, both interior and exterior, and rows of exterior pillars that hold up arches above the doorways, a common theme in roman/renaissance architecture and of other renaissance churches and buildings. One interesting fact about this building is that Michelangelo worked on this building for 17 years only, but has been credited with this being his building.

Located in Florence, Italy. It was finished in 1487. It was built under the order of Saint Augustine. This building features a dome, made of brick with 12 sections on the interior, and pillars moving into arches through the main interior, all creating a straight chamber where a sermon takes place. on the interior, both characteristics of Renaissance Architecture. This church took 51 years to be completed, from 1436 to 1487. Something interesting about this is that this church was involved with the early Humanism movement and Boccaccio.

The Palazzo Pitti is located in Florence, Italy. This palace has its central portions dated back to 1458. This buildings construction was started in 1458 by wealthy banker Luca Pitti, and the building was finished around the second half of the 15th century. This building looks like a Roman aqueduct with its multiple stories with many arches across the walls. This building was extended in the 17th century, including two perpendicular wings that even more gave it the look and feeling of a roman building. One interesting fact is that Luca Pitti died before the building was actually finished.

This building was an orphanage, also in Florence, Italy. This building was built in 1419 - 1427 originally, with small revisions and changes over many years. The commisioner of this project was the Arte Della Sate, the Silk Guild of florence and famous for philantropic actions. The building was finished/opened in 1445. This building used round columns and classically correct capitals, both common aspects of the combined roman and gothic architecture. This buildings columns also hold proportion to one another, creating squares if lines were drawn between their tops and bottoms, another aspect of roman architecture. Something interesting about this building is that anyone could drop off a baby anonymously and they would be cared for, and was closed in 1875.

Thes most modern gate was built by king Fredrick William II. it took from 1788 to 1791 to complete it's construction. This bulding imitates the Propylaea, the gateway to Acropolis in Athens. It also features a very grand design, with tall pillars and intricate work on the pillars and on the top, like most of the roman architecture. One interesting fact about this building is that it was originally named Peace Gate, or in German, Friendenstor.
