To win a space race a nation needs to become a world power. To become a world power a nation needs to have military, political, and economic power greater than the rest of the world. When one world power arises, the next strongest nation has to compete with the world power for “top dog”. The competition pushes each nation to be better than the other, specifically in a space race. This happened after World War 2 when the U.S and Russia competed for the best space exploration.

During a space race an important factor is to gain the support from the public. A way to do this is through propaganda. Which is a way of promoting your nation while criticizing your opponent. Propaganda can be promoted through film, television, music, literature, and art. In order to win a space race a nation needs a lot of money. The money would go towards funding scientific advancements. By funding these programs they can improve their technology. One of the best way for a world power to win a space race is to have the top of the line technology. By the end of the space race between Russia and the U.S, the U.S spent about 25 billion dollars. Another good way to win a space race is to spy on your opponent. It helps to know  what your opponent is doing and also how far behind or ahead your side is. This could be done by having inside sources on the opponents side. It could also be done by spies in space. The final step to win a space race is to accomplish a significant task. Russia was falling behind technologicaly to the U.S. The U.S’s maingoal  was to put man on the moon.
