Q1: do you think food labels need to include information on nanoparticles?
Q2: what interventions can be used to raise awareness about nanoparticles in the food industry?

Sandra. Yes, I'm agree that nanoparticles information should be included on food labels. However, information to the consumers regarding what nanoparticles are, and they effect on health is needed. Education and more research are key factors to develop regarding this subject.

Nanoparticles should definitely be in the labels but I don’t think people are aware of what nanoparticles is, therefore first of all awarenesses about food labels including nanoparticles should be raised. Putting nanoparticles info in the labels will not make a great positive impact unless other issues are solved first, such as obesigenic environment. In addition, governments should advise people to eat whole food instead of anything coming from a pack, otherwise, avoid any food that has more than 5 ingredients.

Yes, while there is no general requirement in the EU law to label nanoparticles in food contact material (e.g. food packaging). Novel foods regulation and food supplementation should be a consideration on nano materials labelling.
