Likewise, our students feel the same so we can give them the opportunity to use their voice to help out by giving them choices or helping come up with the classroom rules.

Attention: As educators we see students who may struggle with attention.

ATTENTION. Some students do not get enough attention at home for different reasons e.g. too many siblings, parents working too much to support the family, or they only have one parent. These students crave attention at school, so I think it is okay to give them the attention that they seek. Even with the littlest things, like looking at them in the eyes, smiling at them, always calling them by their names, when they want to talk you always remember to give them your full and undivided attention, ask them personal questions to get to know them a bit better "what is favorite color?" Those actions can help our student and us have a better day.
BELONGING. Some students have the feeling that they don't belong and that is why they have behavioral problems at school but we can help them feel included by rewarding their participation in class, by listening to their ideas and include them in the class, asking about their interests and have a rotation of different works that they can help throughout the day.
POWER OF CONTROL. We all know the feeling of being in control, it makes us feel safe at times, and students want that feeling as well. We can give a little power of control to students by help us modify the rules in the classroom, by sharing ideas of classroom jobs they can have, by letting them express in front the class and by giving them choices rather than orders.

A students home situation can be a cause of some misbehavior:
1. They may not have direction/discipline at home. So when they come to school and have to follow rules they don't see them as necessary. The lack of adult attention at home may lead them to act out to seek love/attention.
2. A child wants to have choices/control over somethings in their life. If their home life it too strict, they might act out when they can't have choices. They might throw a tantrum over what an adult would consider a minor thing, but if they were given a choice the child feels in control.
3. If a child is not allowed to do anything for himself at home, when they come to school and "fail" at something they might feel incompetent/"stupid" and have a tantrum. If a teacher won't do a task for them that a parent usually does, the child could again have a tantrum, because they do not know how to deal with the situation.

Three things I observed are Homelessness, an absent parent/divorce and abusive environment.
I believe the best thing we can do is to try very hard to establish a relationship with the student and find out what they like to do or what their talents are and plan accordingly. This will provide a safety net for the child and make them feel loved and cared for.

One of the three things our students struggle with is competence. They need to believe in themselves in order to succeed. Theres times that they don't believe in themselves and that causes them to act out or pretend not to care. Another one is belonging, there's kids that are in sports, extra activities or etc... and then there's some that do poorly in school and are not part of a group. So they feel disconnected and wanting to be part of a group. The third one is lack of attention, in my opinion this is the most common one. A way we can help them out with these struggles is always engaging with them having a positive mindset and even rewarding them. Theses are all factors that can help them with these struggles and can lead them to success,

Three things that students struggle with that causes misbehavior is attention, power of control, and competence. Attention, rather if they´re receiving too much attention or not enough attention it causes misbehavior. To prevent this struggle we need to let the student feel loved, we need to compliment them and shower them with attention. if its too much attention we need to offer a positive challenge.
Power of control is when students feel as if they have no control over or influence in their lives which causes them to act out. giving students a sense control by adding jobs or keeping them accountable for their actions can prevent the misbehavior.
competence students feel like they are not smart enough to succeed which causes them to not care or act out. we can help with this struggle by setting up small groups, offering or giving extra help, also showing them more love.

Students could never face discipline or be corrected at home, and are new to this idea in school
3. Students could be upset about something happening in their personal life and are lashing out at school because that's something within their control, even if it is a negative action

We can help with all of these by correcting students individually, being understanding, and creating a kind class environment that values respect for others (including the troublemaker but also including victims)

The three things that I see students carry in their backpacks are:

Low self esteem-
These students are a result where no love and lack of attention is given. Parents and other family members have put other priorities above in order to support a family. The lack of a father figure is another factor that contribute to low self esteem. They come to school trying to fulfill that void. We need to be vigilant and help this students accomplish their goals and dreams. We need to let them know that they are love and we are here to support them as much as we can.

Guilt-
some students they feel responsible for their family financial situation. They experience the pressure of their peers and their environment. This create an idea of dropping out of school in order to help the family. I feel we need to help them understand that the choice done by their parents should not allow them think and do irrational things that might affect their future. To use their situation to starve to do better and in that way help their parents financially and in every way they can.

Peer Pressure- This is another factor that affect our students. The sense to belong in a society, be part of a group of people that will fill the void of loneliness. Its an area that our students are been lured too. Most of these groups are creating a negative impact in our students. We need to teach them how to use better judgment when choosing whom to hang around. To seek positive friendships that will help them succeed in life. Friendships that will be there for life and not just temporarily.

Behavior is a form of communication, and a lot of times students are acting out in order to get our attention because that is the only way they know how to do it.

Since I have been teaching a few things I have seen my students struggle with are wanting attention, hunger, and not having a strong family unit. For many students school is their safe place and where they may get their only steady meals, breakfast and lunch.

Students act our for attention because any attention is good attention. Ignoring their bad behavior and praising good behavior can help maintain the dignity of the student and show them acting out is not going to get them the attention they want.

Some students come from diverse living situations and might not have both or any parents in their life. They may go back and forth between multiple houses if parents are divorced. There are also students living in multi-generational living situations and have several families living under one roof. It's important to make sure they feel a sense of belonging at school if they don't have a stable home life and provide them stability they may not have elsewhere.

The 3 things that students carry with them is first, attention seeking. Many students thrive off attention and likes being the center of attention. students may misbehave to get the teacher and other students attention since the student may not receive little to no attention at home. The best way to handle that situation is to ignore the student bad behavior since the student already knows that them behaving doesn't get everyone's attention but misbehaving does. The best way to correct student behavior is to correct the behavior privately, one on one with the student instead of addressing it in front of the whole class, when the student is behaving reward that behavior , but privately. Many students also struggle with belonging, many students feel like they don't belong and may feel out of place with their peers, making the student participate and encourage to be apart of the group is a good way to help the student. Competence is another thing students carry many students have a low self esteem and don't believe they can be successful they may think they are not good enough or may think nobody cares for them but we can do is encourage students that they are important and they are as good enough as the rest.

Three things students struggle with is the sense of belonging. believing in themselves and attention. Some students are economically impacted in their home life which may hinder them from being shown the proper love and care from their guardians at home. Including students in setting up games and helping clean up. Children want to feel in control so giving them responsibilities like setting up cones, counting out bean bags or even choosing their own teams helps their competence. I notice a lot of students lack confidence when it comes to simple tasks or games in PE. I try to always proving positive and corrective feedback with a fist bump or hand five. Some students are easily discouraged which makes it difficult for them to enjoy a game or actively participate. Certain students may lack discipline at home so when they are shown attention whether its negative or positive, they tend to lash out. That's why building relationships with students. learning them personally and noticing small attributes, giving compliments provides them a sense of belonging.
