Regular old town until municipal employees lit a garbage bag on fire and it later found its way into a cave. Town was evacuted there soon after. In 2002 the zip code was taken away. In 2013 the remaining stragglers (of the town) made a deal with the government to stay at the town. While this happened in 1967, the fissures are are still here and seeable today.

Used to be the state capital of Alabama. But due to it's location near a river it made it a flood hazard. Was a brief prisoner camp and rally point for the Confed's in the Civil War. Became a community for freed slaves after the war. Then the floods got too bad and the town was eventually deserted. It is now a State Historic Site and an Archological site.
