Without a doubt, choir has been one of the only things I have lived for, especially in lock down, but it would be nothing without all the countless hours all the tutors have poured into making all of our weeks much brighter! I am so grateful to be a part of this family and to experience going to bed on Thursday nights disappointed that I have to wait a full week to feel the joy of being with the tutors (though that disappointment is worth it every time).

Thank you to all the tutors for keeping us going through these challenging times. It is without a doubt that choir brings me immense joy every Thursday. It is the only time of the week where I get to share my passion with such a lovely family that we have created. Each tutor brings so much light and warmth to the space and I am so lucky that I get to spend my Thursday nights with such closely bonded and loving people. My friends always ask me: "Charisse, how on earth do you survive singing for almost three hours straight up till 9pm every week? It must be exhausting!" I usually just laugh and respond with "You get used to it after a while." But in my head, I know that one of the only reasons I never feel exhausted when it comes to choir is because of our amazing tutors. Out of the seven days of the week, Thursday is by far my favourite. Choir rehearsal every Thursday evening is one of the only things I look forward to these days and I owe that feeling to you wonderful tutors. Whether it's through a computer screen or face-to-face, you never fail to make weekly rehearsals so much fun for each and every chorister. The atmosphere is always so bright and happy with you guys in it. Even this term, through a small box on Zoom, I can still feel your energy and enthusiasm radiating through the screen. Choir is a small chance to escape from the stress of everyday life, and I'm so incredibly thankful for it. Thank you so much for everything you have taught me not only through my time in Performing Choir, but through my whole AGC career. It feels like growing up in a second home and I really don't know what I would do without it. There truly is no family like this one <3

AGC is the best part of my week. I know a lot of us feel this and it’s because we have such amazing tutors who make each and every lesson unique and amazing. The feeling of excitement when walking into class or logging onto zoom is excitement to see my choir family. An environment that started with all of you. I can not thank you all enough for the support and love you give each and every one of us. Thank you for teaching us and helping us do something that we love. Being a first year performing choir girl, this is the first year that I have had you all as my tutors, but you have all influenced me and been my role models since I started choir. I honestly could not have asked for a better year 12 AGC experience. So thank you for everything you do for us.

The effort that you put in each week to make sure we all have an amazing Thursday like we usually would doesn't go unnoticed <3 Thank you for the little bit of joy you bring to every single member of Perf every week and for getting us through this tough term, especially the year 12s!! Having choir as an opportunity to relax, interact and do what we love has been so important especially this year and thank for being so accomodating and looking after us. Thank you so incredibly much for continuing to make choir my happy place, even in the middle of lockdown. Every single week I leave choir happier and with more love for the world than I felt when I arrived, or logged on. We really appreciate all of the hard work that goes into giving us such excellent and exciting lessons, but most of all I appreciate the care that you give to all of us. Even though we're separated at the moment, we're still just as much of a family as ever thanks to your example of how much we can still be there for each other. Every week you dedicate about 20% of our lessons too well being. A time to check in with our friends and see how everyone is going. Thank you for keeping our passion for music alive. To be surrounded by talented, loving and extraordinary tutors not only brightens our Thursdays but the entirety of lockdown. Lockdown is a really hard time for everyone in the community, but somehow, you can make it so much better with Choir. The tutors are always in a good mood which just lifts everyone’s mood as well. You always make us all laugh and smile and we still get to continue with something we really love even throughout this lockdown. This was my first year in Perf and even though half of it wasn’t face to face, I can honestly say it was absolutely amazing. I enjoy each and every lesson and I can’t thank you enough for what you have done not only for me but everyone in this Perf family. Love Holly C xx.

Although we are all in tiny little boxes on zoom, AGC is still its amazing self thanks to all of you! AGC has been the highlight of my and so many other peoples weeks as it helps us stay connected with this amazing sisterhood and support network we have and without it, I don’t know what I would do. Covid hasn't been easy and your efforts to make it as enjoyable and easy for us as possible doesn't go unnoticed. To our amazing tutors, thank you incredibly for all of the work and dedication that you put into this organisation. Over the last 10 years, and the last 2 especially, your ability to commit and persevere is outstanding and such skills that I admire and look up to. Thursday night rehearsals continue to be the highlight of my week being able to continue to see the tiny squares that are my sisters. I dream of having the patience and joy you bring with this ever-changing world and the confidence to keep going and to continue to smile and sing wherever I may be. The intricate details you make sure to teach us about our technique, or those little jokes included into the 8:40 carols sessions are just the things we notice (even though it may not seem like it) and what gets us right through to that 9pm mark (even though by then we just want to do more). The unbelievable teamwork that I witness demonstrates the exact work environment I and all should strive for. The stories will always make me laugh and smile, no matter how I am or have been, the support that you show towards our singing is beyond amazing, even though sometimes we can't get it quite right, and your ever-ending smiles that stay on from the minute ballare starts at 5pm till everyone laves at 9pm (and that isn't including concert days). These fine details are never missed and I hope that they never end. There are and will never be enough words (and time) to say just how grateful I am for you and the time I have been able to spend with you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Dear tutors, I just want to say thank you for always managing to put a smile on everyone’s faces on Thursday nights. You always find some new way to make everything fun and engaging. I always look forward to our rehearsals because I love seeing everyone.
