1. My name is taken from the Bible and is derived from the word "peace" Shalom. It represents the aspiration for peace, harmony and tranquility.
2. My name was given to me by my parents after my maternal Grandfather who passed away when my mom was a child. His name was Shlomo.
3. When I was younger I hated my name. It sounded long and old, and living in south America people mispronounced my name all the time. As I grew up I learned to love it and make peace with it.

Shlomo(or Solomon), Соломон, שלמה, سليمان

1. My first name means, quite simply, peaceable and peaceful. In other languages my name is pronounced Solomon, or at the very least resembles that name. The origin of the name is from the Bible, where a famous biblical figure named King Solomon appears mostly throughout the Book of Kings (in Hebrew: Sefer Melachim). King Solomon is known for his great wisdom and astonishing wealth; according to the Bible, he is considered the wisest man to ever live. In Hebrew, the root of my name carries the powerful meaning of "whole."

2. Both my mom and grandmother used to read books that revolve around King Solomon and his unique characteristics. After I was born, it constituted a significant factor in determining my name, as my maternal grandmother suggested the name Shlomo to my mom, who took a liking to it.

3. Although most people would say that Shlomo is a common Jewish name, I perceive it in a totally different way. To me, the name seems quite uncommon and sounds unique since I rarely meet men, teenagers or children with this name, let alone a similar one (such as Shlomi). Throughout the years, I have always ignored people who attempted to ridicule me by using insults that rhyme with Shlomo. Such incidents never played a role in devaluing my name and the way it sounds to me. In conclusion, I am extremely satisfied with my name and would never consider changing it.

1. My name means pleasant. Despite many people, mostly abroad, think that Noam derives from the bible, it does not. The confusion occurs due to its resemblance to Noah.
2. The name was given to me by my mum. She always liked this name and believed it would suit me.
3. I am satisfied with my name, and I deem it describes me well. I do, however, wish it was easier to pronounce for people outside of Israel. I don’t see myself changing my name anytime in the future.
