I am usually thinking about my to-do list when I'm driving to my routine places (i.e. work, school. grocery store). I went on a road trip recently and noticed that I was focusing on the scenery (i.e. trees, cars around me, fields, cows/horses).

I actually focus on driving while driving, if I'm not sure how to get to the destination. Driving is not one of those things that came naturally to me, so especially in those first few months I really had to be responsible about my focus. Now I've definitely been more lenient with myself, though I'm not sure if that's really a good thing. Today if it's somewhere I've been before, I am definitely just going through the motions and thinking about plenty of other things. The interstate scares me though; I always have to focus on the interstate.

As I personally haven't begun driving yet, I can't really answer this properly. However, I have found that when in the car when I am not doing homework, I tend to look at what other drivers are doing especially the ones ahead as it is often the most noticeable when they are not paying attention as they tend to drift. When I am in the car although I am not driving I can be distracted by signs, especially when I am trying to find a place I have not been to before, and by my family talking. I do try to focus the most on other drivers as my mom often has me look out for drivers who are distracted/are texting nearby, as they tend to be the worst drivers.

When I am driving, I am usually very focused on the cars around me. I am always very cautious around pedestrians. When I am driving, I tend to think about my destination and what I need to get done or I start singing along with the song that is playing in my car.
