If I stacked books, the book on the very bottom because that one was placed there first and has been there longer. That's the same with fossils. The fossils deeper underground are the oldest because sediment had formed over them and other fossils started forming on top after.

If i stacked books on a shelf, the one on the bottom would be the oldest because it was put there first. This is like how fossils are found in rock layers. The deeper the fossil, the older it is.

If I staked books on a shelf the ones at the bottom of the shelf would be the oldest. Because overtime when you purchase new books you keep staking them on top of the books you already had.

I would put the ones I got first on the shelf then stack the newer ones on top. I could tell by the names, and this relates to fossils because fossils also go from oldest to newest as well.

The ones that got put on the shelf first would be considered old and the last ones would not be as old as the first ones . And its similar to old rocks because the oldest one s are on the bottom and the youngest ones are on top the oldest ones would have more details and old features but the youngest ones wouldn't;t look as rough as the oldest .
