Could evaluation of sweat from a body sensor tell us more
about or even diagnose a disease? According to Choi
(2016), perspiration is full of proteins and molecules that
could lead to an easier way to look into one's health. As far as cardio health goes, Appelboom et al. (2014) sums up that the smart wearable sensor (SWS) could determine patterns indicative of cardiovascular disorder and even test blood glucose levels. Health can be viewed in many ways but if a small sensor could measure sleep quality, stress levels, and even brain activity would you not question if some disease processes could be simply avoided by early intervention, The Medical Futurist (2017). This could give an inside look prior to physician visits at the clinic to identify risk factors and the need for increased education.

Within healthcare are many tools that if used efficiently can benefit the world greatly. These tools must be considered carefully prior to use and standards must be upheld. The United States of America was built upon faith and In God We Trust. The fact that this device is very close to a chip being placed just under the skin tugs heavily toward morals and beliefs within my entire being. I feel that this makes the world one step closer to something that I cannot and will not condone within my practice. Per Appelboom (2014), a logical bias may be a big debate if the SWS were to be launched. Judgement and critically thinking each situation is the only thing that we have left. Professionally, I think this device could open many positive doors but with much consideration of the person in need.
