         <description><![CDATA[<div>Question 5:<br><br><a href="https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1NUEheeuRJg">Adaptation are an animals short term answers to a sudden change in their habitat or environment for example: If you were to start gardening without gloves for a number of days, you'd begin to develop calluses that make the work you're doing easier. Evolution in animals happens over a much longer period and act as a way to allow the species of animal to function and survive better for example: During the Industrial Age a species of white moths weren't able to hide on trees anymore because of the smog making the trees darker, however within that species some moths had a mutated gene that made them black, thus allowing them to become more hidden and eventually breeding more of the mutated black gene allowing the species to continue on.<br>Sources: YouTube, [Online], 'What is evolution?'          <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Fossils of horses have been found with toes from when they weren't domesticated 60 million years ago. This was due to early species of horses living in jungles so feet like pads were useful for moving through thick, overgrown environments. On horses moved out onto plains they developed hooves for speed.<br><br>Another form of proof is direct observation. For instance from mass breeding of dogs new genetic tests and looks have been formed and original photos of for instance a bull dog from the 1800s looks completely compared to a 20th century bull dog which has been genetically destroy due to kennel club standard and inbreeding.<br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Natural Selection.&nbsp;</div><div><br><br></div><div>The environment cannot support unlimited growth of any one species of animal, not every living organism get to reproduce to their full potential. For example, there are some green beetles and some brown beetles, the green beetles get eaten by birds and/or reptiles etc. Which then allows the brown beetles to survive and breed with the other brown beetles, and their offspring will then be brown due to genes and genetic breeding. This is a reoccurring act, which eventually kills off all of the green beetles and leaves the brown beetles alive greatly increasing the population of the brown beetles. Another example, there are a group of rats, some rats bigger than others, the bigger rats are usually slower, easier to see and obviously have more meat. So predators such as foxes and various bird of prey species would kill them and eat them, leaving only the smaller rats.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Charles Darwin was an English naturalist who studied variation in plants and animals during a five-year voyage around the world in the 19th century. He explained his ideas on evolution in a book called, 'On the Origin of Species', published in 1859.<br><br></div><div>Darwin's ideas caused a lot of controversy, and this continues today, because they can be seen as <strong>conflicting with religious views</strong>about the creation of the world and the creatures in it.<br><br></div><div>The basic idea behind the theory of evolution is that all the different species have evolved from simple life forms. These simple life forms first developed more than 3 billion years ago (the Earth is about 4.5 billion years old). The timeline below shows some of the key events in the evolution of life on Earth, from the first <em>bacteria</em> to the first modern humans.<br> <br><br></div>]]></description>
