Your class/travel company “Adventurecation” is new to the market of travel. You want to target young, curious people much like yourselves, but you need to sell them your ideas and what makes your company special. Please choose a text to write for your company’s very first travel magazine (two or three people for each topic, your teacher will provide you with a grid). On this page you will add your texts, look at and review the texts of others and bring the whole magazine together. We’re looking forward to reading your work 😊

Welcoming your readers
It’s your job as editors of the magazine to welcome readers at the beginning of the magazine. Your goal is to make them curious enough to keep reading. Write a letter by the editor in which you:
•	Welcome them to the magazine
•	Introduce your company and what it can offer readers
•	Make them curious about the articles in the magazine

A weekend at a hostel
Some of your international readership will be from countries (e.g. the US) where hostels are frowned upon. In your article, you use a personal experience to guide your readers through a successful stay at a hostel. Please include the following:
•	Describe what a room and the check-in process at a hostel usually look like
•	Highlight the opportunities that a stay at a hostel gives you (compared to a hotel or Airbnb) and what to watch out for
•	Try to persuade readers to book one of your company’s lower-budget hostel trips so they get only the good sides of staying at a hostel.

Welcome to paradise
A few of your readers will be quite wealthy. Your company wants to cater to everyone’s needs, so the magazine will include an article on a stay at an all-inclusive resort. Your article should include the following:
•	A description of the destination you will be taking your readers to
•	What they can expect from the resort and which activities they will be able to do
•	Ways in which readers can profit from this experience for their work life after the holidays.

Green traveling
As a young world citizen, you care about the environment. Therefore, it is a major goal to convince the readers of your magazine to take eco-friendly vacations and trips. Write an article, in which you
•	list environmentally unfriendly things to avoid when traveling
•	suggest eco-friendly ways to get to destinations
•	give tips how to plan green vacations.

Favorite destinations
Recommendations where to go are of course always part of a travel magazine. For this reason, you want to share your personal favorite travel destinations with your readers. In this article, you
•	describe how you prepared for the vacation
•	inform what you particularly liked about this destination
•	reveal some secret recommendations and hotspots.

Dealing with problems
As nice as vacations are most of the time, travelers are sometimes confronted with minor problems like unclean towels, or major ones like bedbugs or a last-minute cancellation by the hotel you booked your room at. You want to help your readers to avoid/solve such problems and decide to include an article in your magazine in which you
•	tell your readers what to pay attention to before departing on vacations
•	offer some general troubleshooting
•	mention how your company can be of assistance in case of problems.

At the airport
Airplanes are a popular mode of transportation to go on a vacation. Unfortunately, flying often involves complicated procedures, long waiting times, delays, and many more annoying aspects. In this article, you
•	offer advice how to deal with certain problems your readers might face at the airport
•	give ideas how to spend some interesting time at the airport
•	describe the premium membership program your organization offers to help stranded passengers.

Day trips
Sometimes you just want to spend a nice day or two away from home, exploring new places, relaxing. Day trips are a great opportunity to do so, which is why, in this article, you try to motivate your readers to use this opportunity. You
•	explain advantages of a day trip
•	describe possible destinations
•	promote organized day trips which your company offers.

The end of the magazine
After all of the travel tips, your readers should be reminded of why your company is a great option for booking their holidays. You write the last article of the magazine for that purpose. In the text, you:
•	Thank readers for coming this far and selecting their favorite trips
•	Highlight why your company is a great choice for any kind of trip and budget
•	Try to persuade readers to become customers of your company

Your teacher will indicate this stage of the magazine production!

Before your magazine goes out, you need to make sure that the texts are easy to read, use correct language that is appropriate for the text type of article (and one letter). Choose either
• an article/the letter or
• putting the texts into a good order and adding some transitions between them or
• designing the title page and the table of contents
Your teacher will provide you with a grid, there should be no more than two students per text or task. Be sure to add your work to padlet. When you are finished, your teacher will print the magazine and we will hang it up in class.
