         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><ol><li>The Spanish <ol><li>They used natives as laborers for a while to do their work for them</li><li>Spanish suppressed native religions</li><li>Pueblo revolt was brutally put down after the Pueblo rose up after unrest</li><li>Some Spaniards had children with the natives and mixed raced people (mestizos) were born</li></ol></li><li>The Dutch<ol><li>Traded furs in general, not sure if related specifically to natives</li></ol></li><li>The French<ol><li>The French treated the natives pretty well</li><li>Some traders married native women and had children with them</li><li>Became part of their society kind of</li><li>Traded furs</li><li>French had many allies with natives</li><li>Allied with natives like the Algonquins</li><li>Fought with enemies of their native allies</li></ol></li><li>The English<ol><li>The English saw the natives as savages as they were different in their culture, language, religion, etc.</li><li>Used this to justify harsh treatment of them</li><li>Tried to keep societies separate</li></ol></li><li>In general<ol><li>Some European nations got along with natives (the French mainly)</li><li>Some Europeans treated them like savages (the English a lot and some Spanish)</li><li>Some Europeans also married the natives (a bit of all societies but more French and Spanish)</li></ol></li></ol><div><br></div>]]></description>
