Day in and day out, he goes to several offices and asks for a good job. The city of dreams could then actually have fulfilled all his dreams. We understand that if Raj found a job on reaching there, the entire plot of the film can potentially change. Although we did want that, we understand that life is not always hunky dory. Hence, we wanted him to face his demons and the demons posed by the harsh realities of life but ultimately redeem himself. Having said that, the ending in totality still somewhat remains the same. The moment Raj came across Seth's options for earning more money in less time and effort, he started feeling like he was deviating from the path he had chosen for himself in order to have a brighter future. To curry favour with Raj, he proposed to him a big profit deal of stealing money from all the poor people of the city in the name of building them a house instead of living on footpaths. The scene is taken from an eye-level angle, highlighting Raj's facial expressions and focusing the camera on him. There is an intense atmosphere in the scene because of the pacing and the fast-paced music. Raj sits with the beggar to chitchat and offers him a banana. after finishing the banana Raj throws the peel on the road. The camera shots the road and the people passing by the peel. suddenly a girl  slips over the peel and everyone starts laughing. Raj feels bad and goes to help her, but the girl denies his help and ran away from there. Camera zooms in to Raj's expressions of guilty. Next day while going to work Raj stops by a tea stall to have his morning tea where he sees the same girl sitting having her tea , he apologies the girl , and asks her name, Radha she replies. Everyday Raj meets Radha at the tea stall and one day Raj finally confesses Radha that he is in love with her and wants to start a family. Radha is too shy to reply him. As Raj realized, everyone was just trying to get rich through corruption and stealing from the poor, not through diligent work. He got Rs 45 by selling his medal which he referred to as "Eman" (Honesty). Yet as he walked along the road, some boys were playing cards and he showed interest in them. Raj had no idea what happened when the one who rob money from his pocket, and they all move on. Then he said ‘Shrm nhi ati sharif admi ki jeb katte hoye’. He represented all of them scoundrels or ‘Shree 420’. A bird's eye view shot was taken during this scene in order to capture this perspective. 'To make the atmosphere of the scene more sombre and sad, a heavy piano piece was played during that moment, which contributed to the darkness of the scene.

Raj decides to expose all the activities. His coworkers tried stopping him as it might affect their source of extra income  too but Raj who was awarded the title of "Emaan" decided to stand up for the right thing. and plans to not to run his new family with the corruption money. So the money the company took from the public was to be used for company's selfish purposes which would allow it to have more revenue than usual which then was to be taken to abroad by killing all the dreams of the people who invested in the company in hope to gain their benefits. Raj understood how these people might have struggled to provide this amount to their company, the shot captures the teary eyes of Raj with an emotional music in the background. And using these money for their own benefit will be wrong to them so he decides to bring the reality of the company in front of the public by informing the company's wrong activities to the people and gave back their money which impressed the public the long camera shot of people celebrating was taken from far. Raj became the symbol of honesty and inspired people to fight for the truth. He shares this moment with now his wife to be, Radha, while sipping tea at the place they officially met one another. At this moment there is a song playing on the flute in the background with a happy tune. He tells her how he came to this ginormous city in hopes of making a name for himself the honest way. He then begins to tell Radha about how he was surrounded by the temptations of corruption and greed the moment he entered the city. At this point, he reaches the part in his story when he had to make one of the most important decisions in his life, whether  or not to expose the corruption in his workplace. The camera focuses in on Raj's face, and the music has turned to cords playing a darker harmony. He then blinks and stares and Radha, as the camera shifts to her face and says that she pulled him out from the darkness. He goes on to explain how she was the one who kept him away from the temptations of the evil city life. the music changes to a livelier, and exciting tone. Radha then shares a smile with Raj and embraces him. The two smile at each otheras they are sitting together in the sunshine. The camera then begins to pan out slowly away from them. Revealing other people in the community passing by on the street. They all wave and tip their hats in respect to Raj as he is a symbol for everyone in the community. He is an inspiration that everyone can go from nothing to something with honesty and integrity. Happy music continues to play as the last shot is Raj's smile as he dawns on his peers and fellow community members. It is the same smile he had when he came to this city as a poor man.
