I buy a brainstorming as a class language. (number 1)

Why?

I found it necessary to discuss a topic and to list basic concepts.

Describe how it works:

I divide into a couple groups the class. I give them a couple of different technical terms that deal with the subject.

Between the couple they try to define, with my occasional help, what the words are about.

Then in groups they do a small sharing of the words that each pair has, indicating which word it is and what it really means or try to mean with te topic we are dealing with.

2nd. Kind

What kind of scaffolding did you buy?

Providing students with 3 simple business plans that they asked to analyze and then develop their own business plan based on the previous analysis. (number 2)

Why?

I think it fits effectively with the content of the related topic.

Describe how it works:

I give to the students 3 business models for body repair shops. Specifically in its structural repair business line. So they can see what tools and measurement systems each of them has, as well as see what type of vehicle arrives for reparations to their facilities.

Depending on the machinery they have, they are able or not to repair these types of chassis quickly and effectively.

Students should think about whether these tools are ideal or not and think about a similar chassis repair business (they own business) and what measurement and repair equipment fits their idea the best.

3rd. Kind

Providing speaking frames such a debate. (number 3)

Why?

In my opinion, a debate is very useful as a pedagogical tool to develop speaking skills.

Describe how it works:

I think in a small performance of two technicians (two students) talking about a repair process in a vehicle rocker panel. They find structural foam inside and one of the techs says they have to replace it, while the other says it has to be done if the manufacturer says so.

The rest of the group listens, and then everyone has to explain their opinion to reach a group solution or consensus.

I will state which one side of the debate, and then list several key reasons why that side is better in order to provide additional information and support the opposite side to encourage the discussion.
