I can use this story to start helping students process their own emotions by putting a name to it and then expressing themselves through that emotion. After reading this story students will have the opportunity to turn and talk about their favorite emotions and what makes them feel that way. One example I can give my students is "I love when I feel happy. One thing that makes me feel happy is spending time with my dog". Once the students had a chance to turn and talk then they will draw a picture of them feeling that way as well as writing down a sentence explaining what helps them feel that particular emotion.

I can use this book to help my students tackle two different concepts. One concept they can tackle is the way that a myth flows. They will be able to see the beginning, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution in a myth. I can also use this text to introduce my students to myths. As a whole class, students and myself, will take turns reading the text. After we are done reading it, they will be paired up in groups of 3 -4 students and create their own myth. They will then label each section corresponding with whether it was an introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.

This book helps children put words to emotions and provides an example for the kids in order for them to understand the emotion better. I think this book would be great because of the simplicity of the words. I believe that the simpler the words the easier it would be for students to be able to understand the sounds and make out the words when the sounds are read out to them. It would also be a quick read.

In this book Henry and his dog Mudge try to help Henry's cousin Annie find a suitable pet. I think this book would be good for phonemic awareness since the books contain words that the child will already be familiar with, for example "cat", "turtle", and "duck" they will be able to count how many phonemes they hear easily.
