Will my classroom have whiteboards?

It will have one board in each temporary classroom.

When will we receive boxes?

You will receive boxes on 5/1. They will be available in the office for you to pick up. Please pick up a couple at first and come back. We will replenish boxes continuously.

Will I be able to have my file cabinets and wardrobes and my lightweight plastic shelves moved to my temporary classroom?

Depending on how many cabinets. This should include a wardrobe if you have it and the lightweight plastic shelves. How many file cabinets do you have?

Are there plans to include staff bathrooms in more than one area of the building?

There will not be new staff bathrooms. The existing bathrooms will all be updated.

Will the existing whiteboards in the rooms being remodeled be replaced? Some of the whiteboards have severe ghosting and are difficult to erase.

Will we be able to access design lab materials to do projects without the design lab space?

We hope to have a place to store some cardboard for use. This will be a delicate balance as space will be tight.

So NONE of us need to go through the usual end-of-year prepping the rooms for waxing, correct? Just leave it all as is?

All existing rooms in the east wing of the building can remain as is. We will ask that you put chairs on top of tables.

Will the chalkboards in classrooms be replaced with whiteboards?

All chalkboards will be replaced with a white board. There will be 2 whiteboards in each finished room. Only one in each of the temporary classroom.

Will there be a storage room of some kind for things we don't need the whole year but during certain times?

We are working out a plan for storage of items. Any personal items will need to be brought home.

Since the shelves are going away with the removal of the radiators in the rooms... will there be any kind of storage solution in the remodeled classrooms?

Do you currently have a 2 door wardrobe cabinet? What are you needing to store? We will have departmental storage in a closet as well.

Will it be possible to move some items ourselves if we are just moving down the hall?

Possibly. It just depends on availability of spaces and timing. If there is something specifically you are thinking...come chat with me on it.

I know we're supposed to pack up "stuff" for the move to temp. classrooms. What if I have some of that stuff already in a cart with wheels? Does that need to be emptied?

If there are two teachers that are sharing one room next year, will there be a tall wardrobe for each teacher?

You should label your current wardrobe cabinet to your room. If each teacher does that, then they will have their own cabinet.

Are all of our desks/chairs and student desks/chairs being moved to our temporary rooms? Do they need to be labeled as well? And do we need to have a room setup diagram for the temporary rooms?

Please label all boxes and furniture with proper labels so that we know where all furniture originated. A room set up diagram for your new space would also be helpful. If you do not want the furniture for next year, please mark if as storage.

Should we empty out and box up the contents of our storage cabinets, or are those being moved as is?

Intruder situation window coverings... Will there be anything installed universally? Or do we each need to create/reuse our own devices?

I think I may have found one that we can order for each room that will be consistent throughout the building. Hold off on doing anything on your own.
