➵ it should be no surprise that a son of phobos was born during the midst of a war. no matter how big or small the conflict may be, the god of war and his sons are never too far from the centre of it all. somehow in the middle of the chaos of the korean war, a child of phobos was born.

war and conflict was and is a seemingly perpetual thing in the world so yunho didn't get to see his father often. though he definitely came back a number of times to south korea, whether it be for yunho and his mother, or for another conflict. yunho can count the number of times he has actually seen his father on one hand, but he has always felt his presence, sensing whenever he was nearby or farther away.

as he grew older, his powers became more obvious with every year. he was able to tell what people's fear were without even trying eventually. when it came to sports and the like, he was able to adapt quickly and his teams almost never lost. and he kept his ability to communicate with some animals a secret - at the behest of his mother. his abilities remained a little unstable and at time volatile until his late twenties.

with the gwangju riots and protests of the 1970s to 1980s, yunho's world changed forever.

his mother was shot among many other innocents during a protest. rage and grief took over yunho's being and he took that and continued to walk in the protests. it was during another protest when he was shot and he thought that perhaps it was the end for him as well - but then the unexpected happened. a dark cloud appeared above his head, an image of himself, trapped in chains and unable to move.

he had been claimed. acknowledged and accepted by his father. he could feel it in his veins, his mind, everything snapping into place.

healed and with the energy from a second wind, he continued to fight. and if those responsible for all these atrocities eventually met their end, it was none of yunho's business to share.

he spent a long time moving from city to city, sometimes trying to live normally, other times taking up more fulfilling jobs like a detective, a firefighter.

after a long time of wandering, he decided that he had enough of travelling, at least for now. he's been living in sunrise point for the last fifteen years or so and he works hard as a city guard, making sure all of the residents are safe and cared for.
