It's sad that parents are so heartless and abandon their babies for pathetic reasons like because the baby is disable, because the parents are poor or because of the tiger year superstition. Despite all this the nuns still accept the babies in and take good care of them even when they know that they have insufficient space or sources. The nuns are so kind hearted and still accept in babies and shower them with their love.

I admire how inclusive the IJ society is. Being a buddhist myself, it is very heartwarming to be so accepted and welcomed into a society like this. The IJ sisters brought about unity and support amongst the different religions in Singapore and that is something we need to have in our lives now. We should not be discriminating and dismissing others because of our different religions, but instead helping and supporting one another just like how the Buddhist and Islamic community did for the IJ sisters as at the end of the day, our goal shouldn't be to prove that our religion is the best over the other, but instead use it to promote love and help those in need.

Shows the nuns' dedication. There was also an orphanage, gate of hope, which were places specially catered to babies who were abandoned. Living in a selfish society, I am inspired by the tenderness love of the nuns as they themselves did not have enough resource so to live on. However, they made the effort to earn money (through sewing and embroidery), care for 85000 babies and pray for them. I think I can learn the value of selflessness from this act of God’s will.
