We are starting our second Novel Study on Island of the Blue Dolphins this week. This story connects beautifully to our social studies curriculum. It tells about Karana, a CA indigenous person in the 1800's, who becomes stranded on an island alone and must survive.  We will read chapters 1-3 this week. Please look at the "Homework Printables" to find the chapters we are reading this week. If absent, it is important that you keep up with the reading. Any work connected to the reading can be made up when returned.

In writing, we continue our CA Travel Project. This writing assignment focuses on research and informational writing. This week, we will write our National Park journal entry for our pretend travel trip. The final draft of it will be done by Friday.
