After the war, Mussolini resumed his political activities, he got several right-wing groups into one single force and in March 1919 he formed a fascists party.

Mussolini created a para-military unit called the "Black Shirts." By 1922, Italy slipped into political chaos, Mussolini said only he could bring order and was given power.
