The CPDO was also reported to have informed the residents of the flood stricken towns to prepare for further flooding; one of them by Alabado informing the residents to make their houses taller as a temporary measure.

As Enrico Paringit (the project head) of DOST said that if said such flooding on both sides of the river may occur if 200 milimeters of rain falls in the in the city. The date marked the eleventh anniversary of the tragedy that claimed the lives of 31 people. CSWDO Assistant Department Head Perla Redulosa said that they have continued to provide the flash flood victims with financial support even if the tragedy occurred 11 years ago and will continue to do so.
