To avoid confusion with the normal use of the present simple (common situations), this use must be accompanied by some expression that indicates future.

Si dirías en español: “va a”,  usa “going to” en inglés.

Si usarías el tiempo presente en español para expresar futuro, usa el presente continuo,
llega          is arriving

o el presente simple.
llega          arrives

Con el futuro simple y going to, no es necesario especificar “cuándo”.
De por si, indican futuro.
1.  He will arrive  (tomorrow).
2.  He is going to arrive  (tomorrow).

En los ejemplos 3 y 4, es necesario especificar un tiempo futuro.
Sin la aclaración del tiempo, estos ejemplos quedan en tiempo presente.
3.  He is arriving  tomorrow.
4.  He arrives  tomorrow.
