Not because of anything that she is doing, but because of everything else that people are not doing. This world is set up for one type of person and thats someone that is of an average height without any kind of disability. Olivia has a hard time reaching sinks in the bathroom, t-shirts off of clothing racks, and car handles  when her friends parents pick her up. I know that she can get upset and annoyed when these little things get in the way and its hard to watch. She doesn't think I see them all the time but I always do. Other than these times when she gets frustrated, I love being her mom. So far, she has shown no drastic differences in her motor skills and is at the appropriate reading level for her grade and age. She does have a harder time keeping up with the other kids in her class when it comes to recreational activities, but academically she has stayed on track. When Olivia was born and I didn't know where to start educating myself, this website had everything. They have links to websites and services that sell adaptive products, discussion groups, support organizations, almost anything you could think of. For example, we had to move and fully renovate our home in order for her to feel comfortable. We put in ramps, permanent step stools, lowered light switches, and made sure that our kitchen was accessible for her use. She also requires some modified shoes and clothing items, most of which we can buy online.
