Those original seated students likely felt ignored and mistreated, since the people who came to take their food and space took them without any real reason. Since they had less space and food to have, they likely felt neglected or maybe resentful against the invaders.

The original seated students probably felt scared that their food and space got taken by stronger invaders. This can be applied to nature when invasive species are introduced into an ecosystem, competing for the native animals' food, taking up space and overpopulating.

I think the little Robert C. Fisler students feel angry, as well as scared. This is due to the fact that the space was originally the seventh graders, and then the eight graders took their space. They could also feel scared because the eight graders are bigger than them, so the seventh graders can feel intimidated.
