Rosa Lynn

It is beneficial to create culturally relevant resources in ECE centres. Children get to experience juggling using felt or sealskin juggling balls. Children also get to identify Inuit Culture by looking or using juggling balls and singing the jugging song in Inuktitut.

Nora

It’s important to have first aid in hand. You need to be careful not to poke your hands with the needle. You need to concentrate with the poking when doing the needle, you also need to poke the colours to the duffle to make it into juggling balls. You need to be prepared, it would be better to prepare it before the students come in.

When we are doing a needle felting. We need a foam for making a juggling balls out of felt material, we also need to use a needle felting, for the foam we need to keep the felt material on top of the foam so we wont poke ourselves. If we are holding the felt material while we are making juggling balls, it is not safe as we might poke ourselves so just to be on a safe side it is best to keep it on top of a foam so we wont poke ourselves. With the seal skin juggling balls it is different than doing a needle felting as with needle felting we are poking the felt material to make it a juggling balls and if we want to add different colours, we also need to poke the felt materials. Doing juggling with children and singing with children it is important and telling them a story about it as its a Inuit culture

When creating culturally relevant resources such as seal skin or any materials with needles you would be careful what you are doing because you might poke your hand sometimes. So first aid would be handy in place. When making sometime with needle is important we learn how to sew.

When creating a culturally resources like seal skin with needles you would need the thimble cause it’s important to use it as the needle can poke your finger. The ECE worker can teach the children in the daycare how to make juggling balls out of seal skins or any materials, but ECE workers have to be very carful to let the kids to use the needles

The benefits of making sealskin and needle felting juggle balls is learning about the song, getting to know the lyrics of the song. There is a lot of movement while singing especially with moving hands and arms, singing the song needs a lot of concentration. I never made juggling balls out of needle felting but I made seal skin balls when we were being taught earlier when class first started. And i know when making needle felting balls that we need first Aid kit.
