         <description><![CDATA[<div>Nathalie Arthaud was born February 23, 1970 in Peyrins, France. She is an economics teacher, but also a politician. She is a spokesperson for Lutte Ouvriere which is a workers struggle socialist party. She has been the candidate for the party in both 2012, and 2017. In the 2012 election she received 202,548 votes. In the 2017 election she got 232,284 votes. She heavily supports workers rights, and has supported many related acts. She was nominated by the workers struggle again in 2022 for presidency. It is pretty unlikely that she will win. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Nicolas Dupont-Aignan is a candidate for the French Presidential election in 2022. He has been a politician since 2008. He is president of Debout La France. Also, he has been the Mayor of Yerres, France. He is a member of Union for a Popular Movement since 2007, and founded the gaullist and souverainist party in 2008. He ran for president in 2012 and 2017. He was mayor of Yerres for 2 terms, and helped get them out of debt. He is also a supporter of Rattachism. Rattachism is a belief that french speaking parts of Belgium should become part of France. He shares many views with fellow candidate Marine Le Pen.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Anne Hidalgo is a Spanish-French politician. She has been the Mayor of Paris since 2014. She is a part of the socialist party. She became the Mayor of Paris after Mayor Delanoe did not run for a third term. She was the deputy mayor under him. A lot of her voters did not want her to win another term due to some mismanagement, but she was re-elected. She did a lot for COVID-19, and some of her policies gained international attention. She is running for president even though she has not completed a full term as Mayor.  She is big on the environment and has many environmental policies to implement. She is against global licence, and cults.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Yannick Jadot is a environmentalist, humanitarian and politician. He played a big part in Greenpeace, and headed Alliance pour la planète. He also helped in the Grenelle Environnement Accord. He was&nbsp; elected on the European Parliament in 2009. He was also on the European Parliament Intergroup on the Welfare and Conservation of Animals. Jadot was part of the Parliament’s delegations with the countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations aswell. Europe Ecology selected Jadot do be the candidate for the 2017 election, but he eventually withdrew candidacy. After he withdrew, he endorsed Benoit Hamon. For the 2021 election, he won 51% of the primaries.&nbsp;He seems to have a good chance at doing well in the election. </div>]]></description>

He represents the 4th constituency of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the National Assembly. He was also a candidate in the 2017 election. He is also a former member of the Democratic movement. He received 435,301 votes in the 2017 election. He ran under a party he founded called Resistions, and continues to lead it. He was mayor of commune of Lourdios-Ichère from 1977-2017.&nbsp; Lassalle has also led the World Mountain People Association. The World Mountain People Association is an international network of mountain-dwellers that are active in 70 countries. Another thing he did was taking  a 39-day hunger strike in 2006, protesting at a threat to jobs in his constituency.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Emmanuel Macron </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Emmanuel Macron is currently the president of France. He is running for re-election in 2022. Macron became a deputy secretary general under President François Hollande after his election in May 2012. Macron was one of Hollande's senior advisers. Macron used to be a part of the socialist party. In the 2022 election, he ran under La République En Marche. He was the founder of that party. He gained 66.1% of the vote in the second round, and beat Marine Le Pen. He attempted to run for a seat in the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Assembly_(France)">National Assembl</a>y under the Socialist Party in the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_French_legislative_election">2007 legislative elections</a>, but his application was declined. He was also offered to be the deputy chief of staff to Prime Minister François Fillon, but he declined. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Jean-Luc Melenchon is a french politician, who is part of the&nbsp; National Assembly for the 4th constituency of Bouches-du-Rhône. In 1976, Melenchon joined the socialist party, and was elected municipal councillor of Massy. He was also the general councillor of Essonne. He served as Minister for Vocational Education in the cohabitation government of Lionel Jospin. He was a part of the socialist party until he left to be founder of the left party. He was co-president of that party with Martine Billard. He also joined the electoral coalition of the Left Front before the 2009 European election.  In 2014, he got re-elected on parliament which he had been serving as a member on. He ran in the 2012 election, and received 11% of the vote. He was 4th overall in that election. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Marine Le Pen is french lawyer, and politician. She has been president of the National Rally since 2011. She had been elected as a regional councillor of Nord-Pas-de-Calais, and a member of parliament. She also was municipal councillor of Hénin-Beaumont. A lot of her family is in politics as well. She ran for election in 2012, and placed third, getting 17.9% of votes. In 2017, she ran again against Emmanuel Macron. She received 21.3% in the first round. In the second round she gained 33%, but was beaten by Macron.  She has some controversial views, such as supporting Putin, and opposing Nato. But along with that, she does have some good values. She was in Time 100s most influential people. </div>]]></description>

She is a member of the Republicans, and National Assembly. She is the Minister of Higher Education and Research, and the Minister of Budget. She is also a government spokesperson. In 2002, she became regional counselor of Île-de-France. She had many reforms to give universities resources and funding. In 2011 until 2012, Pécresse served as the government's spokeswoman and as Minister of Budget, Public Accounts and State Reform. She was the first woman to hold the office of president of the Regional Council of Île-de-France. In July of  2021, Pécresse announced running as the Republican candidate in the 2022 presidential election.</div>]]></description>

He had been the&nbsp; advisor in charge of communication for Communist <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Demessine">Michelle Demessine</a>. Also, he was the secretary of State for Tourism under Prime Minister in 1997. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Another thing he did was being and editor for&nbsp;<em>Face à l'Info. &nbsp;</em>He has a lot of experience in news, and worked a lot of jobs related to that. He has a lot of controversial views, mainly about immigration and islam. He has been charged multiple times after saying racist and anti-islam things. He created a new political party to run for presidency called&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reconqu%C3%AAte_(political_party)">Reconquête</a>. Another controversial thing he said in a presidential debate was that "MeToo is a movement of "eradication of men". He has many endorsements from people. I hope he does not win, because he would not be good for France, and the rest of the world. </div>]]></description>

He had been a candidate for the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolutionary_Communist_League_(France)">Revolutionary Communist League</a> in the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_French_legislative_election">2007 legislative election</a>. He also stood in the 5th constituency of Gironde. Although, he was unable to win in the legislative election. He ran again in 2014, but also failed to win that. In 2020, he had office as a municipal councillor and metropolitan councillor of Bordeaux. </div>]]></description>
