         <description><![CDATA[<div>When you mix cake ingredients and put them in the oven, the process of breaking down some of the ingredients causes the once liquidy batter to be fluffy and soft. Baking a cake or cupcakes is an irreversible process meaning once you bake it, you can't change it back to batter. This indicates a chemical reaction because  the soft, fluffy cake is a new substance and  new substance means a chemical reaction has occurred. </div>]]></description>

Because of the breakdown of chlorophyll, it causes the skin of the fruit to change colors. This process, however, is irreversible. The indicator that it is a chemical reaction is the change in color because when the color of a substance changes, it means a chemical reaction has occurred. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When salt is added to ice, it causes the temperatures of the ice to raise ultimately making it melt. For example, when the roads are slippery after a snow storm, snow plows put salt down on the roads to make the ice melt so it can be less slippery. This indicates a chemical reaction has occurred because the temperature of the ice had risen as result of the salt being added and temperature change is an indicator of a chemical reaction. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>You're in art class gluing together pieces of cardboard and you realize the regular glue isn't making it all stick together. Next, you turn to the hot glue gun. Hot glue starts as a stick of glue that gets melted by the hot glue gun.  Once you put this new liquid on the piece of cardboard and stick another piece to it, the glue turns to a solid within seconds. This indicates a chemical reaction has occurred because there was a precipitate, an unexpected new solid formed.</div>]]></description>
