Right now, Americans are throwing away way too much edible food, because they want to eat the "freshest food". In the nmmmm times, they were suffering the lack of food. If we keep throwing it away we might be led to the same problem that the Mesopotamians had. For example, Americans (everybody will probably throw away a tomato which is just a few days old.

We are running out of food, and we only have four ideas. We can increase the chance to plant crops. Even if the land is very difficult to plant crops. We could move out to the Tigris River where the land is rich. But has uncontrollable floods. We can go raid other villages for food. We can also abandon farming all together and back to hunting and gathering. These are the four choices we have to save the village.

Decision A is a bad idea because just planting crops doesn't fix anything, you need fertile soil, you can't do that on dry land. Why decision A is good is because they can plant more crops and will increase the production. (more food)
