Mexico is a country with a very rich history, which is reflected in the customs and traditions that its citizens honor and of which they feel very proud.
1. The Guelaguetza
Guelaguetza is a word that derives from the Zapotec "guendalizaa" and means to cooperate.
It is celebrated in the state of Oaxaca.
2. Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
Devotion to the Virgin of Guadalupe is deeply rooted in the Mexican people, making the celebration of her day one of the most important and popular traditional festivals.
3. Dance of the Voladores Papantla Flyers
This is a ritual that has its origin in pre-Hispanic times in the Papantla region, on the border between Veracruz and Puebla, Mexico. However, it is also carried out in other regions of the Mexican nation.
4. Day of the Dead
It is one of the most traditional festivals in Mexico. It is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd.
5. Epiphany
On this day the arrival of the Magi to Bethlehem to worship the Child Jesus is commemorated. It is celebrated on January 6 in Mexico.
6. Independence Day
It is celebrated on September 16 in every corner of Mexico. The party ends when attendees shout with pride: "Long live Mexico!"
7. The Piñata
This is a highly extended and practiced tradition. It has its origin in the 16th century, when the Augustinians undertook the titanic task of evangelizing the indigenous people who inhabited the Acolman region.
8. Candlemas Day
It is celebrated on February 2 of each year.
9. Tequila
It is the typical drink of Mexico. This alcoholic beverage is from the homonymous municipality of the state of Jalisco.
10. Day of the Holy Innocents
This is a tradition that has its origin in a biblical account. According to the Gospels, when Herod learned that the Messiah had been born in Bethlehem, he ordered the murder of all children up to two years old born there.
11. The Morisma
It has been celebrated in the last week of August in Zacatecas, since 1830, and it is a complex celebration that involves historical, cultural and religious elements.
12.

In terms of the origin of human beings, there is something in common between the East and the West, that is, people are made of earth.

In China, There is a divine named Nu Wa. One day she dipped in muddy water with a rope and threw out many small mud spots. She blew them, and all the small mud spots became human, who look like her, running towards her and called her mother. So humans were born. Divine culture also began to spread.

In the West, there are also stories about God makes human, but it is interesting that they are also made of mud.

Humans have a common origin, but different environments have created different understandings of things around them. For example, in China, when people first came into this world, who is truthful and compassion. Later, he will be polluted by the social environment and became evil, but there is a wish inside the human yearning for nice qualities, so the growth of the Chinese people is constantly looking for returning to the original and returning to the divine nature.

In the West, the Bible says that people are born guilty, and they need to pass through the salvation of Jesus Christ and their own prayers and confessions before they can return to a better world in the future.

Both Orientals and Westerners have goodness and divinity. we believe that there are divines in this world.

By: Griselda Perez
Salvadoran culture is influenced by Native American culture (Lenca people, Cacaopera people, Maya peoples, Pipil people) as well as Latin American culture (Latin America, Hispanic America, Ibero-America). Mestizo culture and the Catholic Church dominates the country.
African slaves arrived in El Salvador in the sixteenth century, but over the years they have assimilated and mixed into the general population. Nowadays you see that typical mixture of African, European, and indigenous peoples that make up the bulk of Latin America. The culture of the Caribbean Coast of Central America is not a thing in El Salvador and never has been.
