  • The event will be held at Roman Baths in Caerleon.
  • We’re only developing one format, but will have slots for younger ages (11-14) accompanied by guardians and given a bit more time/less scary zombies and slots for older ages (15-20)
  • ·Llamau will be working with us on this, they’ll help with special effects make-up (one of their staff is trained, and maybe your colleague from Cadw might also want to join?) and as zombie event volunteers.

    Plan for the day:
     
    • 10am meet at Roman Legion Museum and go to the Roman Baths to look at the spaces we will use
    •  10:45am tea and biscuits at Roman Legion Museum
    • 11:15 John explains how to plan and set up escape rooms, lets us test some games.
    • 12:00 We look at the collections and discover objects and stories we can use as inspiration for the game
    • 13:00 lunch
    • 14:00 brainstorming sessions, maybe in smaller groups
    • 14:30 gathering ideas, looking at feasibility (more tea)
    • 15:00 make paper mock-ups, review ideas, agree game outline
    • 15:45 distribute work to be done between the youth forums and agree deadlines
    •  16:00 END

  • Wednesday 29th August Leaving Newport at 1pm returning around 5.30pm        A visit to an escape room. A research visit to the Adventure Rooms in Cardiff. This event is free of charge for youth forum members and free transport will be arranged to and from Newport Centre. As a team we will experience a commercial escape room and pick up ideas for our own event. Timings and transport to be confirmed on the week of the event. Four more spaces available.
