One of my best friends my senior year had family in Mexico. He stayed there every summer, so I would usually not see him for about three months. It was hard to maintain the level of friendship we had, but we both had to make an equal effort. It is an easy way to have fun and spend time with people I am close with. Sharing activities also means we get to try new things together and become closer. Self-Disclosure is also very important because it allows for a personal connection. It's what takes the next step from close friends to best friends. Being able to share what I think and feel with my friends helps me to feel close with them and maintain our friendship.
