I actively supervise and interact with youths from 10-21 years of age daily during activities and program scheduling. These youths are court ordered to be incarcerated until they go before a judge whom ultimately decides their near future. The average stay for a juvenile at the youth center is 18 days.

I would ultimately like to become a Guidance Counselor in a High School or Middle School, where I can meet one on one with young adults to discuss issues that they are having negative or positive. I am excited to be graduating this May 2020 with my MS in School Counseling and begin my next journey.

My interest in counseling comes from my interest in how everyone is diverse, and not one of your clients will ever be exactly the same. Counseling is fascinating in the sense that every day is different and you are continuously learning. I was able to complete my practicum at a middle school, Internship 1 at a high school, and Internship 2 at an elementary school. At my current employer I have also ran groups about drug dependency and bullying.
