Therefore, instructions, books, and their own essays can be read to them. This tool allows Dr. Joe to quickly upload a poem and have it read aloud to the class; then, he can pause the recording to discuss the material with the class. Again, this gives students a chance to assimilate to the difficulty of reading these poems, but Natural Reader also allows students to practice monitoring their understanding. As Dr. Joe models metacognitive pauses, students discover the importance of determining if they understand what they have just read. His favorite feature of Twitter is using the #APLIT hashtag as it instantly connects him to other AP Literature and Composition teachers. He has been able to communciate with a few of these other teachers and share resources. One recommended Equity Maps for his classroom discussions. Thus, with some intervention, Dr. Joe ensures every student shares their opinions and ideas on the subject matter.
