My identity

My identity is defined as being open minded throughout life. When people come into new environments lots of times they will not open themselves to what they are finding, and it limits what they can learn and who they can become. I have seen this and tried to apply it to my life. I remember the first time I went into Manhattan. When you step of the LIRR, you are being transported literately and figuratively into a new world. The skyscraper going up for what seems like infinitely. The millions of people you will never see again, and the smells. You can take in all of these can adopt to it. Or you can shelter yourself from the world. I choose to explore this new world, and it was for the better. I have learned so much for the city, and keep on planing to do so

Deep Dives. The bane of my sleep schedule. Too many nights I can remember finding something while scrolling thought my phone, and BAM. 4 hours of sleep gone out the window. I know its not the best for me, but it describes the type of person I am. If there is more information on a topic out their, you know I'm searching it up, or watching a video. The best is when I can actually use the information that I gain while on these "Deep Dives", but that rarely happens. I could be sleeping and letting my body rest, but then how would I ever know that a the tarachula hawk swap has one of the most painful stings in the animal kingdom.

Don't judge a book by its cover is one that we learn from a young age, and is taught to us over and over. But do people really look at a person, and don't think anything about them. For my I try to, but when it comes to sports I thought I know what to look out for. Turns out, I was terribly wrong. Let me set the stage. Its summer time, the day of try outs for a club volleyball team. You were on it the previous year and know most of the people around you. It's a close group, like a second family. The coach tells us to the 6's and we set it up. But when I look over to my outside who is normally a 6,5 brown lenghthy kid, I see a 5,10, MAX ,black haired stout kid. Im thinking to myself "This must be the lib", but coach reminds me he is trying out a couple of new kids. First serve, perfect pass. I think I'm about to go OT and hit 2,2. When the setter passes a go ball to this short outside who goes top antenna, and over my 6,9 middle blocker. We all stare star struck. Turns out this "kids" was one of the best outsides on long island, and I was taught to never judge a book by its cover.
