In recent years, scientists have been trying to build an AI that can be used in the classroom. Robots have the potential to become as important as paper and books in a class, but they sadly can never replace human teachers.

 Having robots in a classroom is a good thing. They can help our students in numerous ways that are still unavailable. Humanoid robots that are social can do a lot of things better than a normal human teacher could. They possess a wider knowledge, they remain patient and receptive disregarding the situation, they cannot be caught off – guard or be diverted, etc.  A study conducted by the University of Plymouth, Yale and Tsukuba suggests that robots are efficient in increasing students’ academic performances, mainly because of their ability to utilize time, broader understanding of subjects, and their physical appearance. 

 The humanoid robots can be helpful, but still lack a few of the key points that humans do have. Robots can not provide a comprehensive, empathic, and rewarding educational experience. In the same study stated above, it was also pointed out that although there is speech recognition technology, robots cannot efficiently understand spoken utterances form a human. There is also a lack of discipline in classes that are taught by robots only. A robot can only boost a student’s capability with a human teacher, but never by itself.

 This concludes the matter. Robots can never completely replace human teachers but can be helpful in education. With this, we can now sufficiently utilize robots in classes for the best of our children.
