I'll give you an example: Geology! Geologists use a coordinate system to represent the location of geological features and structures on the Earth’s surface. The x-axis represents one direction or location, while the y-axis represents another direction or location.

Linking equations with lines

I really struggled to link equations with lines. What helped was getting to the end of the lessons, and learning how the different elements of the equation y = mx+B links into the visualisation.

Trying different things in Microsoft Math solver helped to solidify some of these learnings.

Fractions finally came full circle for me

I struggled with fractions earlier in the course. Although not the focus in this section, doing them as part of the exercises it finally "clicked" with me. Very exciting.

As an aside, I also just really enjoyed learning about sets. Most of that was new to me, and it just really clicked.

the course starts with a lot of understatement but indeed is very useful to get familiar (again) with mathematics. I appreciated it and I learned some new topics

Challenges, not really, I have tried to follow actively, i.e. stopping the video, making exercises in advance and looking subsequently at the solution. The only topic which needs more attention in the course - in my opinion - is the construction of the line equation starting from the points. I had to research some more in the Internet

I was able to reflect on the concept od "set" (which I had to check on the dictionary, being non-native English speaker) and the fact that points in a straight line can be thought of as elements of a set. So I would like to explore more the links between Cantor's set theory and geometry and algebra

I found this section and the one before the hardest of all of them. Bot because they were the last ones, but because I took a long break from doing them and so lost a bit of info. Also the topic wasn't really a gel with me... eheh. I would like to be finished soon; I've still got the exam to do... Wish me luck!

I really found learning about sets interesting and discovering the meaning behind symbols such as {}, N, Z and R. I found understanding the coordinate plane very helpful though I still don't really understand how to calculate the formula of a line. This took the most time for me out of the whole course and I really want to understand this much better. Great course!

I found questions with rational numbers as coordinates to be more calculative. But I enjoyed thoroughly.

I only faced a small problem. When I entered correct answers still my answers were marked as wrong.

It reminded me a lot of forgotten notions I learned in middle school.

Writing lines as equations was really interesting and I finally understood what the different symbols meant.
