This is one of the most important questions because its imperative to know the impact this law had on the African American Community.
Although, the main message was "separate but equal" that was far from the truth compared to the treatment white students got vs. African American students. For instance, in the 1930's school boards would spend three times more on white students then on blacks. However, that's not the only disadvantage the Jim Crow laws placed on them such as the student to materials/desks ratio, the dirty to rotting school buildings, and limits were placed on how much black students could learn about. White school leaders did this so black students wouldn't be exposed to ideas like equality and freedom.
-Angelica G.
