Quizlet Live
My Algebra and Math 8 classes love playing quizlet live! I have used some that were pre-made and there are some I have created. When you take a worksheet and put a competitive twist to it, students are more engaged. After each round I create new groupings. This forces them to get to know each other which connects with out capturing kids hearts philosophy. I say after every rotation “let’s make new friends. Introduce yourself if you don’t know each other.”

Factoring Valentine Activity---
I created a valentine activity for my Algebra students which resembled an “I have, who has game.” The students cut out each heart and then cut each heart in half. One side of the heart had the foiled answer and one side had the factoring answer. The students then had to figure out which left side of the heart goes with the right side of the heart. Once they put all the broken hearts back together, they got them checked and then they taped them together. All the hearts were then displayed in the hallway.
