Similarities:
- Both of them are about journey. But the point is, they are not just simply about physical journey, but also psychological journey.
- Both of them use very detailed descriptions to depict the scene, which makes the scenes aliveeee!
Differences:
- The two protagonists got different trails, in Walking Home, the protagonist uses a linear trail, while in Wild, the protagonist's is "a confusion of lines in all directions (chapter 2)"
- Although the title of "Walking Home" is "walking", however within the journey, the protagonist sometimes takes transportation (e.g. train), while "Wild" is LITERALLY hiking
- The two authors got different motivations to begin their journeys

differences between these two books

1Simon's book involves more about his hiking journey, but not so much in Cheryl's one. Also, Simon includes more details during his journey.

2. Simon's book is more light-weighted, we could imagined a midlife man, challenging himself. But Cheryl's book is gloomed and sober. She was trying to find herself, reviewing all her life choices and her relationships with her mother during the journey. Again, she didn't seemed to include details of her journey in this book. Yet, her journey seems more "real" to us.

As a female, we found Cheryl's book more emotional. A lots of stories and experiences were intertwined to form this unique story.
