Their nocturnal instincts help them deal with the heat of the desert environment.
Their batlike ears radiate body heat and help keep them cool. They also have long, thick hair that insulates them during cold nights and protects them from hot sun during the day. the fox's feet are hairy, which protects them from extremely hot sand. The fox's feet are also like shovels for frequent digging because fennec foxes live in underground dens.

abnormal behaviours are invariant and repetitive behaviour which has no obvious function like pacing, over grooming and self mutilation.
