WHAT YOU NEED:

-Water

-Jar

-Cotton

-Olive oil

-Tong

HOW TO DO:

1- Fill the jar with water.

2- Cut a piece of cotton and roll it and then put it in the water (Cotton sinks)

3- Roll the other piece of cotton, dip it into olive oil and then put it in the water (Cotton floats)

WHY IS THAT?

The magical material in this science experiment is "olive oil". Water and oil are two liquids which have different densities. Oil contains less stuff packed tightly into it than water. This makes oil lighter than the water, so it floats on the surface of the water. All penguin bodies are covered in "oily" feathers, which allows the water to flow smoothly over their bodies, and prevent sinking.

We fill the jar with water. When we start filling water in the bottle, the picture on the backy appears that it has changed direction.

Why did the picture change?

We see bodies by the light that they reflect to our eyes. The light which makes us view of bodies behaves different in air, water and glass.

WHAT YOU NEED:

-Granulated sugar

-Jar

-Stretch Film

-Rubber band

HOW TO:

1-Place a piece of stretch film on the top of the jar and straighten as best as possible. 

2-Wrap a rubber band around the stretch film to hold it in place.

3-Put some sugar onto the stretch film.

4-Put your hands on both sides of your mouth and shout loudly and see what happens.

HOW?:

Sound, consist of vibrations. The sound moves from mouth to stretch film by air and makes the stretch film on the jar vibrate. This makes the granulated sugar bounce around

My students are between the ages of 5-6 and I have 7 students. Due to the pandemic, my student count is low. I am happy to be on the project with my students.
