Based on MCU Hela and Thanos, in the timeline of the movies until it goes AU.The sound of her footsteps echoed through the cavernous hall, the darkness disturbed only by glow of Gungnir in her hand. The place appeared abandoned, and by the looks of it, it had been so for some time now.‘Where are the bloody cravens?', she wondered, remembering the dwarves she had met all those centuries ago, grovelling at Odin's feet, begging for his pleasure, his mercy, his protection. She had wanted to kill them all - their pleading was more than mildly annoying - and so had Odin, but he saw them capable of serving their needs, and so he kept them, as pets, like her grandfather before him. And when he gave her Mjolnir, she had to admit….the dwarves were certainly capable of making weapons.Still, she had outgrown that little toy her father had given her, just as she had outgrown Odin himself soon after. And she had never found use of the dwarves again.Until now.A scurrying sound off in the darkness broke her reverie. Her eyes narrowed as she squinted into the darkness, raising Gungnir higher to cast more light. The forges of Nidavellir had never gone cold, her father had told her. Not since the dwarves first captured the heart of a dying star and harnessed it for themselves. But here she was, and it looked like that heart was dead, and so were the dwarves. And it sounded like there were now rats in this mess, too….A massive figure barrelled out of the darkness right at her, giving her not more than a heartbeat to try and face towards it. The creature crashed into her, sending her to the ground and throwing Gungnir out of her grasp. The huge figure roared in defiance, and raised massive fists high over her head, ready to crush her.Or, try to.Hela had never had need for weapons.She caught the two massive fists in her hands, and swung the creature off its feet, flinging it hard into one of the dead forges. The massive beast crashed into the huge smelter and crumpled to the ground, groaning.“Oh, quit your moaning you big oaf. Tree, isn't it? Wasn't that your name?”The dwarf sat up, still moaning piteously - she should really have killed his kind a long time ago - and stared at her while trying to rub his head with his massive fists, just like the dumb beast she knew he was.“Eitri, that's my name…..Eitri….”, he said, his voice cracking, desolate.“Ah, yes, yes….well, same difference, really. Quite an unfortunate name, I must say”, said Hela, before the dwarf interrupted her.“But who..…who are you…..you have Gungnir….”What?! Did no one remember her?!“I am Hela, your Queen, you stupid creature”, snapped Hela.Eitri's eyes widened in shock. “Hela?!”, he breathed. “But…..Odin banished you…”“Yes, and he is dead now, good riddance, so now I am your…”“But…..Thor! Where is Thor, he can….”“He can what? Defeat me, imprison me, kill me?! Well I killed him, and our half brother, and all their friends, and all the warriors of Asgard, and half of those pesky citizens…..and if you keep interrupting me, I WILL HAVE YOUR HEAD TOO!!”That shut the dumb troll up, his mouth hanging open in shock. Really, what was so shocking? She was Odin's executioner. Did anyone really think they stood a chance?She took a deep breath and continued, reminding herself she was here for a reason. “Now then, where were we… Oh yes. Your Queen. While I was ruling over Asgard, planning my next conquest, it came to my attention that half of my citizens just …. vanished. And as far as I know, Asgardians don't just disappear. While going over some of Odin's boring old books Skurge discovered that you had offered to make a weapon for his father, Bor, once. And that the old fool has refused. And that when Odin came to the throne, he had asked you to build one for him, and so you did build one - a prototype. The fake one that sits in my vault even now. A weapon that is capable of wielding such power, power enough to wipe out anyone, destroy anything, at will.”Eitri had gone very still, his silver gloved hands still balled into fists at his side. After a long pause, he spoke.“The Gauntlet….you can't…..”“I have no need of it”, said Hela, cutting him off as she sauntered towards him, smiling dangerously. “I just want to know if you actually made one.”Eitri gulped, watching as she drew closer. “Yes”“And who has it?”“Thanos. Son of Alars. Of Titan”“Never heard of him. Titan, you say? Hmm….”She was at his side now, and placed one finger under the massive dwarfs' chin, forcing him to look at her. “I have no need of it, but it is still mine. It belongs to Asgard. Why did you give it to him?!”“He….he promised to let my people go, if I….if I made it for him”, sobbed Eitri. “And then he killed them all….and he….”, the dwarf raised his hands, and Hela noticed for the first time that he was not in fact wearing gloves; his fists had been encased in Uru.Interesting. This Titan has style.“And so you have him my weapon”, stated Hela in a bored tone. “I am so disappointed Treetree. I no longer need your services. Asgard no longer needs your services”. She let go of Eitri, and walked back to Gungnir and picked it up. “Skurge, open the Bifrost.”“Wait….are you going……to him?”, asked the dwarf, struggling to his feet with a broken laugh. “Going to fight him? Hahahaha....you cannot…..you cannot beat him, Hela. He is….they call him the Mad Titan….”Hela rounded on him in a fit of rage, her horned headdress blossoming out as blood pumped hard in her veins. She drove Gungnir right through the dwarf, skewering him through the middle, before catching hold of his molten fists.“And they call me the Goddess of Death!” she bellowed, as she crushed the Uru metal fists into powder, the dying screams of the dwarf echoing through the silent halls of Nidavellir.The Bifrost deposited her in a field in front of a small hut. And at the door, sat a purple giant. Without the Gauntlet.Thanos, thought Hela. This better be good.The Titan watched her with sharp eyes, but made no move to stop her as she approached, and did not show any surprise at her sudden appearance. He sat there, looking for all the world like he had been expecting her.“Was it you that sent them back to me, then?” called Hela as she walked to the hut. “My ice-giant half brother and those ungrateful citizens? Ice-giant…..what ever was Odin thinking….bringing in such brutes…”, chuckled Hela, shaking her head as she neared Thanos.“I take it you want something more from me, then?”, said the Titan, his voice deep and calm.“Only what belongs to me”, said Hela pleasantly, standing twenty feet from the Titan. “Since you sent me one gift, I thought I would ask you nicely. Besides, when you sent me my baby brother, you failed to send back what he stole from my vault…..so I'll take the rest of the Stones as well as recompense.”“The Stones are the possessions of no one. And neither is the Gauntlet. None may wield such a power.”“Then why did you?”“I had to”, said Thanos, his eyes dipping, leaving her for the first time. Emotion crept into his voice. “I couldn't ignore my fate any longer…..no matter the price….” Hela saw his charred hand, and wondered if that is what he meant. “The hardest choices require the strongest wills”, said Thanos, looking into her eyes again.Oh, great. Another one that wants to be all noble….“Well, I would hate to test your will again, so give me my Gauntlet, and I'll go….and leave you to your…..erm…..farming”, she said with disdain, waving her hand at the field she had just crossed.The Titan chuckled.“I don't have it. And I won't tell you where it is hidden. No one will wield the Gauntlet or the Stones ever again, Hela”Hela felt her anger pulsing again. She ran her hand over her hair, and her horned headdress emerged once more.“Okay, play time is over….give it to me now, or die.”The Titan merely chuckled, and spread his arms wide, as if inviting her forward.Hela didn't need to be told twice. She thrust her arms outward, channeling her rage into a barrage of metres long projectiles that hurtled at the Titan, plunging into his chest and torso, and …. passing right through!She watched in amazement as the purple giant dissolved in a mist of red, only it wasn't blood sprouting from him. He was….dissolving. Realising that she had been tricked, Hela whirled around, trying to figure out where the Titan was, when a massive gauntleted fist closed around her throat. She tried to pry open the choking hold with both her hands, but try as she might, the metal fingers wouldn't bulge.No….it cannot be….“No one is more powerful than the Power Stone, foolish girl”, chuckled Thanos. “Terrifying, isn't it?”, he asked her as she struggled against his hold, feeling the darkness closing in on her as she fought to breath, her feet leaving the ground. “The reality of being bested? Of facing Death, and not being able to do anything? I am sure it must be, even for a Goddess of Death”, he threw his head back and laughed out loud, tightening his grip until he heard the loud snap and felt Hela go limp in his fist.“Thankfully, Reality can be whatever I choose it to be”Seriously? Did you think Hela had a chance against the Gauntlet?
