The series came to be after McDaniel was inspired by YouTuber, Damon Dominique, and his videos exploring small towns in the Southern United States. She wanted to try to look at her hometown and nearby towns in a new light. So, through landscape and architectural photography, McDaniel set out to capture the hidden beauty and charm of the small North Carolina towns that branch off from the interstate.
