The best activities I've completed were recreating a Spanish painting, singing to complete the lyric game, and creating an only Spanish Spotify playlist. These activities were very educational about the Spanish world to me. From these experiences, not only did I learn new genres of music, but I also learned about a Mexican painter who works with oil. Her name is Gladys Roldan- de- Moras and her painting mostly consists of Mexican culture like, escaramuzas and Flamenco women. From recreating a form of Spanish art, I gained more knowledge on anatomy and shading. The types of cultural genres I discovered are Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton, Salsa, Cumbia, and Norteno. From the complete the lyric game and making an only Spanish playlist on Spotify experiences, I have learned the lyrics to multiple songs from a spread of different genres. Not only that, but I have also learned the types of different instruments used in each genre and how they affect the speed in each song. I believe the reason why Sr. S made us do this Tarea Semanal because he wanted us to use and learn Spanish outside of college work. Actually using what we have learned in these assignments will help us understand more about the language and culture. Tarea Semanal is useful to me because I know in the future I want to visit the Spanish-speaking countries in South America. When I travel there, I want to be able to understand the reasons behind the culture and traditions they have in their countries.

I really enjoyed completing all the activities for this assignment. I liked making the SpongeBob meme, creating a Spanish playlist, and researching animals that are native to Spanish-speaking countries. These activities were fun and different from normal homework because they let me be creative while also learning about culture. Instead of just reading or answering questions, I was able to explore Spanish in a hands on way.

From these activities, I gained a better understanding of how language connects to culture. When I made the meme, I learned how humor is part of culture and how people use jokes and images to communicate ideas. It showed me that language can be expressed in creative ways online and on social media. When I created the playlist, I listened to different Spanish songs and learned more about music from different countries. This helped me see how music shows feelings, traditions, and important topics in different cultures. Researching animals from Spanish-speaking countries also helped me learn more about geography and nature, and how they connect to the people who live there.

Through these assignments, I learned about cultural products, like music, memes, and information about animals. I also learned about cultural practices, such as how people express themselves through art, music, and humor. I better understood cultural perspectives by seeing how different countries have unique traditions and ways of life.

I think Sr. S asked us to do this assignment to help us connect what we learn in class to real culture. It helps students understand that Spanish is not just grammar and vocabulary but also about real people and communities.

This semester in SPA 111, I did many activities that helped me improve my Spanish in A very fun and creative way. Some of my favorite assignments were the edpuzzles and the mind taps. I liked these activities because they were different from regular homework and allowed me to challenge and practice my Spanish. From these experiences, I gained way more confidence in the way speak and understanding Spanish. I improved my vocabulary, pronunciation, and ability the way I form my sentences. I also learned that language is deeply connected to culture and many different backgrounds. These activities helped me understand how culture influences daily life and communication. I believe Sr. S wanted us to learn Spanish in a meaningful and engaging way. Instead of just going watching videos and taking notes, we connected language to real culture and creativity especially with the Tareas semanales. But after everything this class helped me grow academically and learn more about the cultural around us.

I enjoyed completing each of the activities in this course, such as the EdPuzzles and MindTap. What stood out to me about these activities is that they really got you to engage with the material in different ways that pulled your attention. It was fun to do recording activities or other ones where you had to speak about yourself and write your own sentences because it made you think about grammar, vocabulary and learning to use the Spanish language in a similar way to how you would use it in the real world. From these activities, I was able to engage and build much stronger language skills through tasks that accurately reflect how Spanish is used in real life. For the cultural perspective portion of doing these activities, I was able to gain a better understanding of regional differences in accent, vocabulary, and culture. Throughout this course I did notice a few similarities between the cultures, and I believe that showed me that while each culture is different, many of them can connect in small ways. I learned about family roles, traditions, and the impact that social issues have on different Spanish cultures in different countries. As for the Tarea Semanal, I did do a lot of tasks that were mostly made up of a documentary or video. This includes the La Rinconada, Peru documentary and the Living on One documentary. Out of both of these, my favorite assignment was the one about La Rinconada that I've added above because it gave me a way to see how different people function, the social issues they face, and how their practices and traditions develop and influence their community. I believe Sr. S asked us to do this so we could all engage and learn that Spanish itself is much more than just a language. It's something that can give a broad look into Spanish culture, communication, and connecting. I truly enjoyed this course, and I'm glad I was able to learn so much here. My hope is that I can apply what I've learned to real life.

I really enjoyed this assignment as a whole because it was fun, creative, and helped me learn in ways I didn’t expect. My favorite activity was definitely making the meme in Spanish. It pushed me to think about the language in a more personal and humorous way, and it made the learning process feel natural instead of forced. I also really liked creating the Spanish playlist. I discovered a lot of Spanish music that I had never heard before, and I was surprised by how much I ended up enjoying it. It opened my eyes to new artists, rhythms, and styles that I probably wouldn’t have explored on my own.

Another activity I enjoyed was researching Spanish‑related plants and animals. I learned a lot of interesting facts about different species from Spanish‑speaking regions, and it helped me appreciate the diversity of the natural world connected to the language. These activities were not only educational but also genuinely enjoyable, which made the information stick with me more.

Overall, I gained a lot of knowledge from these experiences, and I think the reason they were so memorable is because they were hands‑on and engaging. I also gained a new perspective on how another culture sees things compared to my own. I believe the point of this assignment was to help us do more than just take notes it was meant to help us truly understand and connect with the culture. It made the class more enjoyable and meaningful for me.

I loved every activity I did for this class. My absolute favorites were ordering at the Mexican Restaurant in Graham called, "Love and Tacos" in Spanish, and equally, I enjoyed doing art in my own style that was as close to the original art as I could make it. I also had many amazing conversations in the community. I spoke to my Spanish speaking colleague on the phone playing as a client, she laughed when she found out it was me. I even bonded more closely with my neighbor who speaks Spanish. We both spoke in second languages and had a very cool conversation about our families. This was the first time in the many years we have known each other that he actually opened up. As a community social worker, I have gained valuable skills and insights into my clients and the programs I refer them too. Through speaking with people in Spanish, it breaks down language barriers. This has been life changing. It can be difficult to gain people's trust, and even more so when there is a language barrier. My job has been simplified, my clients and colleagues appreciate it, as well do I. One of the perspectives, I gained is when one is learning a new language, it can feel very vulnerable to speak with a native speaker. Feeling like a child in someone else's eyes, the nerves peaking, and the anxiety that it can cause. Not wanting to say the wrong thing, not wanting to offend anyone. I see why it is difficult to approach someone who doesn't understand the same language as a native speaker. The wonderful side of this, is that most people are patient, polite, and understanding. I feel the reason Sr. S asks us to do these exercises is for all the reasons above. To break down barriers, give us a more cultural perspective, and better understand the world around us. The world outside the silos of language and culture I have been living in for so long. To speak with someone who grew up in a different culture in their language, and truly see new perspectives, to make that kind of a connection is a gift of culture that can't be attained from a textbook, an online lesson, or from a quiz. Our TS assignments made me want to learn more. I bought books on Spanish, I read newspaper articles, and even play a language based game with new friends. Thank you Sr. S!

I loved doing all these activities for the tarea semanal because it was a way for me to learn Spanish by doing something of my choosing, and it was super fun. The best activities I completed were creating a Spanish playlist, completing the lyric training game, and comparing the three little pigs in Spanish and the three little pigs in English. These activities helped me learn more about the culture while I was doing something I loved. I love listening to music and being able to do it for an assignment was really amazing for me and I loved it. By creating a Spanish playlist I was able to learn more about the different genres of music and dances like satevó, reggaeton, and bachata. I loved doing this because while I would pick the music from different artists I would like to vibe with the music while I would search for more songs. By completing the lyric training game I was able to better learn the lyrics of the songs I chose and was able to learn about the rhythm of songs and the slang that is used by Spanish speakers. By comparing the three little pigs in both languages I was able to see the similarities and the differences both of the versions have and being able to learn more about the Spanish version that is probably a favorite childhood story for many people in the Latin culture. Cultural products I learned are the different types of music genres like satevó and bachata, cultural practices I learned were listening to different types of popular music that many Latin people listen to, and cultural perspectives I learned and gained a better understanding of is using the Spanish language and viewing the culture in the perspective of how a latin person would by listening to music and learning about childhood stories. I think the point of Sr. S asking us to do this is to help us gain a better understanding of the Latin culture and actually have us interact and do things that we can choose to have fun with.

There were so many different things to choose from for the activities, the ones I enjoyed doing the most was the ones with the memes and the cooking one. My favorite one was the cooking one because I enjoy cooking I made caldo de pollo for the assignment and actually ended up making another recipe too just for fun because the place I moved too doesn't have a bakery very close so I also learned how to make Cortadillo from scratch; it is a Mexican cake that I have had I don't know how many times that I never asked myself how it was made. I looked for a recipe online and made it, both of them turned out really good. I am now able to make more recipes and understand more of the recipes given to me in Spanish. I like that I know have a better grasp on understanding what I'm reading. I liked how hands on making the recipes are and I will definitely continue learning and making new recipes. My dad's side of the family is from Mexico and I spent a lot of time over school breaks in the Rio Grande Valley area which is on the border of Texas and Mexico, so I already had perspective on Mexican culture, but it was fun to learn about other cultures. I think that it is interesting to learn about other places and my favorite way to learn about places will always be through food so I think it would be fun to try to do other recipes from other countries outside of north America. I think the point of doing these activities is to get us to actually experience the culture and immerse ourselves more. Spanish speaking countries have both similarities and differences because of the indigenous people who were there and of course similarities because of Spanish colonization. Learning about those differences through doing different activities gives us more experiences outside of doing fill in the blank, and multiple choice activities, and tests. It also is a more fun way to learn things and I know it can't be easy to make online classes fun for students. There is so many reasons for doing these different activities but I think the most important one would be so there is something for everyone. There is everything from going to a restaurant or store to making memes. Having at least one activity that everyone likes likely makes it a lot more enjoyable for everyone.

My favorite Tarea Semanal activity was listening to music in Spanish. I made a Spanish playlist on Spotify with songs from Latin artists to get more into Hispanic music. I chose songs from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia, and Spain so it was not all the same style. I learned words like bailar (dance), amor (love), and fiesta (party) just by hearing them over and over.

I also liked going to La Cumplidora in Sanford and seeing real Latin foods like yuca, plantains, and Goya products. That showed me what people actually buy and cook. Changing my phone to Spanish and reading something in Spanish online also made me see the language in my normal life.

From these, I saw Products like songs, playlists, foods, and Spanish phone menus. I saw Practices like listening to music, shopping at the Latin store, and using Spanish on a phone. I felt Perspectives like pride, joy, and community in the music and food. I think Sr. S wanted us to see that Spanish is not just for tests, but something people really live every day.

I enjoyed doing all of the activities because it helped me learn Spanish and It was also a fun way to learn Spanish. One of my favorite activities was creating the playlist. I created my playlist on apple music, I chose songs with different styles.These songs also had familiar words or phrases that I recognized which helped with trying to understand the song, although I understand some phrases It was also challenging to fully understand the songs because the songs are at a very fast pace and some of the artists uses slang from their native language. I also enjoyed doing the lyric game, it was very interactive. Doing this activity, I learned how important it is to really focus on pronunciation and speed especially because native speakers sing quickly, and sometimes the words blend together. This activity helped me realize and appreciate that the language is not just about direct translation, but also about understanding feeling and cultural meaning. I also enjoyed the documentary “Living On One” because I learned so much about how the citizens and they have to survive. It definitely opened my eyes and gave me deeper insights and understanding on certain things.I think the reason Mr.S had us do these activities was so we could be interested in learning the language, staying engaged, and understand that Spanish isn’t just a language but it’s a way to have better insight into the culture and a way to connect.These activities were a good way to connect with the culture and it made the class more enjoyable. Overall, I enjoyed this course and I learned a lot from it. I do wish that I can apply this knowledge into my everyday life.

I really enjoyed doing these because they made the learning process interesting and allowed me to be creative. Instead of feeling like ordinary homework, these tasks were entertaining and exciting, and they encouraged me to think outside the box while practicing the material. Each assignment offered a chance to explore new ideas and apply what we learned in ways that were fun and personally meaningful. Through these experiences, I gained a deeper appreciation for cultural products, practices, and perspectives. For this class, I enjoyed completing many of the assignments, like the ed puzzles and the Terea Seminals, with my favorite being writing a summary and reflecting on the documentary Living on One Dollar. This documentary taught me about the rural village of Peña Blanca in Guatemala and how the poverty they face affects them. I learned about their language, Kaqchikel, and the Mayan origin of the people living in the village. I also learn about how poverty is affecting them and how they are combating it. Through this class, I was able to better educate myself on the Spanish language, the culture of the countries that speak it, and their history. These experiences helped me to learn and grow as a person and helped me to gain knowledge of the world around me. Through this class, I gained knowledge on cultural products like music and art, cultural practices like holidays and celebrations, and perspectives like the importance of family. This class has benefited me immensely and created a deep love for not only the Spanish language but also the culture and the people surrounding it. I believe the point of Sr. S asking us to do this is so we can reflect on our work, show what we learned from it, and how it affected us. By doing so, we can take the skills we learn from class and apply them to our future assignments and to our lives. I am grateful I was able to take this class, and I hope to learn more in my next Spanish class.

This semester, my favorite activity was the “¡Un cuento!” activity, where I found a childhood story in Spanish and compare it to the English version. I chose Caperucita Roja (Little Red Riding Hood) and created a Venn diagram to analyze the similarities and differences. This was really fun because it let me see a story I already knew in a completely new light. I noticed that while both versions teach lessons about safety, obedience, and strangers, the Spanish version had a slightly lighter tone and was more instructional. For example, in Caperucita Roja, the girl leaves the path multiple times picking flowers or chasing a butterfly, and the lesson about staying on the path is clearly repeated at the end. The wolf’s punishment is less violent, leaving the village uncomfortable rather than dead. In contrast, the English version often has a darker tone, the girl’s distraction is mostly from talking to the wolf, and the wolf dies after the stones are placed inside him. From this activity, I gained more than just language practice. I learned about cultural products, like the storytelling style, and cultural practices, like how lessons are presented to children in different countries. I also noticed cultural perspectives, the Spanish story focuses on instruction and a lighter moral, while the English version emphasizes danger and seriousness. Comparing the two helped me see how culture shapes even simple narratives, and it made me more aware of the values and ideas that stories convey. I think Sr. S asked us to do this project to help us understand that language and culture are connected. By analyzing stories, we can practice Spanish while also learning to notice subtle cultural differences and perspectives. This activity made language learning meaningful, creative, and fun.
