We have two sides in this case: those who want slavery to end, in "the United States" as abolitionists, and those who want slavery to continue, which are the people of the South.

According to document E, African Americans had jobs, education, they had a little more freedom than in other countries or states.

The issue was not the existence of slavery, but the extension of it. The question of who had the power to allow or disallow slavery in the territories and the newly formed states—the federal government or the states—provoked a heated national debate that would last for decades, resulting in a number of compromises.

The issue of slavery lead to the civil war by two sides(North and south) disagreeing with each other. the north wanted to end slavery while south wanted more slaves. With a huge segregation happening, one was able to secede. south was so greedy that they wanted to continue thw westward expandsion.

After the civil war, African Americans werent free yet, they were still in process of being free. In document A, it talks abt what ways were in African Americans freedom, But indocument B, their were blackcodes that were somewhat not freedom for African Americans.

The issue of slavery led to civil war because the southern states strongly favored the continuation and the expansion of slavery, while the North didn’t want to keep them as slaves.

After the African American free, they were free, had the right to vote,  granted citizenship and the right of a citizen to people born in the US 

The issue of slavery lead to the Civil War is that the abolitionists wanted the total end to slavery in the United States,but many people in Southern states.
