The math test covering Chapter 8 and multiplying fractions is Tuesday. The rest of the week will be Chapter 9, Relating Decimals and Fractions. Students will be comparing decimals, using money to discuss decimals and talking about tenths/hundredths as fractions and decimals. We complete lessons 9.1-9.4 by Friday.

Please remember, Chapter 9 notes we take in class are under the "Homework Printables" section. In the same section, there are very helpful videos and tools to support you and your child if a concept needs a little more review.

Social Studies:

Over the next few weeks we will begin studying the first peoples that lived/explored in California. We already studied 6 different native groups to California. Last week, we discussed European/Russian Explorers. Starting this week, we will dive into the CA Mission System and work on an in-class project over the next two weeks.

READING: We will be taking a break from novel studies to focus on our reading curriculum in Benchmark. We will be studying the unit about Renewable resources. This reading will allow for us to practice comprehension skills with informational text.

WRITING: Narrative Writing. Students will be finishing up their own Fractured Fairy Tale. We are moving toward our final, typed drafts this week and next.

Science:
