Term 3 is always a busy and exciting term, filled with opportunities for our learners to continue striving for excellence both inside and outside the classroom. As we move forward together, we encourage every learner to approach this term with determination, resilience and a positive attitude, making the most of every opportunity to learn and grow.

To our parents and guardians, thank you for your continued support and partnership. Your encouragement at home and your commitment to working alongside the school contribute significantly to the success and well-being of our learners. Be reminded that if your child is not collected 30 minutes after dismissal, your child will be taken to Aftercare and you will be charged at R30 per hour or part thereof.

Our term values are Tenacity, Imagination, and Service, with Resilience as the overarching value that connects them all.

In our first assembly, we shared a story that beautifully illustrated these values and encouraged our learners to think about how they can live them out each day. We hope these conversations will continue at home, giving families the opportunity to reflect together on what these values look like in everyday life.

Tenacity reminds us not to give up when things become challenging. It is about showing courage, perseverance, and a willingness to keep trying, knowing that growth often comes through effort.

Imagination invites us to be curious, creative, and open to new ideas. It encourages our learners to dream, explore, and use their unique gifts to solve problems and make a positive difference.

Service is about looking beyond ourselves and caring for others with kindness, generosity, and compassion. Even the smallest acts of service can have a lasting impact on those around us.

Above all, Resilience is our guiding value this term. Life is full of challenges, but resilience teaches us to face them with hope, confidence, and determination. It helps our learners understand that setbacks are not the end of the story—they are opportunities to learn, grow, and become stronger.

Grade 4

Mrs F. Mustapha has been booked off on medical leave for the remainder of this term. During her absence, Mrs A. Parker/Pietersen will be teaching the class. We thank Mrs Parker/Pietersen for her support and wish Mrs Mustapha a speedy recovery.

Creative Arts

Mrs A. Fortuin-Gaffoor concluded her service at GGPS at the end of Term 2. We thank her for her contribution to the school and wish her every success in her future endeavours.

We are pleased to welcome Ms A. Nadopi to the GGPS family as our new Creative Arts teacher. We wish her a rewarding and successful journey with our school.

Learning Support – Intermediate Phase

Mrs Z. Cupido has accepted a WCED post at another school. We congratulate her on this appointment, thank her for her dedicated service to GGPS, and wish her every success in her new role.

We remain committed to ensuring continuity in teaching and learning and to providing the highest quality educational experience for all our learners.

We respectfully appeal to parents with outstanding school fee payments to make every effort to settle their accounts or to engage with the school should they be experiencing financial difficulties.

The current trend of non-payment places considerable pressure on the school's ability to sustain the quality teaching and learning environment that we all want for our children.

To parents who have been granted school fee exemptions, we thank you for following the appropriate process. While we understand that financial circumstances differ, we warmly encourage you to support the school in other meaningful ways. Whether by volunteering your time, sharing your professional skills, assisting with school events, supporting the PTA, or contributing in any other way, your involvement remains invaluable to our school community.

Our school thrives because of the collective commitment of its families, staff and learners. Every contribution—whether financial, practical or voluntary—helps us maintain a nurturing, well-resourced environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.
