I have a para question on what procedure is when book kits are returned short books.

Susan

Hi Susan,

This is my take on it:

Procedure for when PB book kits are returned short:

1.
Media Para on the borrower end contacts the
teacher who borrowed the kit and asks them to look for the books that are
missing. You may have to give them a few
more days to locate the missing books.

2.
When you decided that you have lost books, send
the book kit back with a note in the kit informing the library that the book
kit has missing or damaged books.

3.
When the kit is returned – inventory the
contents - The library that owns the kit will need to change the record in the
catalog to correct the number of books in the kit. (You may also need to weed
books that are damaged.) Then change the
label on the kit to reflect the new number of books in a kit.

4.
If a kit gets really low on books – consider finding
another kit with the same title and merging the kits.

5.
Always notify and work with media specialist on
this process.

:) Diane
